MySehajPaath is a digital platform designed to make participating in Sehaj Paath possible from anywhere.
Rather than simply putting the Guru Granth Sahib online, the product was designed around the experience of reading together — allowing participants to share a reading, track progress and receive notifications when it is their turn. The entire product was designed and built from the ground up, across web, iPhone and Android.
Bringing a shared experience to people who aren’t in the same place
Sehaj Paath is a shared practice, with participants taking turns reading from the Guru Granth Sahib.
The challenge wasn’t simply making the text digitally accessible. It was creating a digital experience that could preserve the shared nature of the reading while allowing participants to take part from wherever they were. That meant coordinating multiple people, keeping everyone synchronized, and making it clear when each participant needed to take their turn.
The product needed to feel simple for the individual while managing a considerably more complex experience behind the scenes.
A connected platform for reading together
MySehajPaath was designed as a complete digital product rather than simply a digital reader. Participants can:
- Access the Guru Granth Sahib digitally
- Create and participate in shared reading sessions
- Track their reading progress
- Coordinate reading assignments
- See where the group is in the overall reading
- Receive notifications when it is their turn
- Continue participating across devices
The result is an experience that connects individual readers into a single shared reading.
One product, three platforms
MySehajPaath was designed and engineered entirely by Design Science:
- Product and UX — the entire user experience designed from the ground up, from the reading itself through to the workflows required to create and participate in shared sessions.
- Web application — a responsive application providing access to the platform across desktop and mobile browsers.
- Mobile applications — iPhone and Android applications built with Capacitor, extending the same core application across mobile platforms.
- Backend — the infrastructure required to manage users, reading sessions, assignments, progress and notifications.
- Infrastructure — the supporting application infrastructure, deployment and integrations, designed and implemented as part of the project.
Simple for the reader, complex underneath
The core experience is intentionally straightforward. A participant joins a shared reading and knows where the group is, what they need to read, and when it is their turn.
Behind that simple experience is a system responsible for coordinating multiple participants and maintaining the state of the shared reading. This was a product-design challenge as much as a technical one.
The complexity belongs in the system — not with the person using it.

MySehajPaath brings together reading, progress, coordination and notifications into a single platform accessible across web and mobile. A shared reading experience that was traditionally tied to being in the same room can now happen from anywhere.
The project demonstrates the full scope of what Design Science delivers when the technology itself is the product — from the initial experience and interface design through backend architecture and multi-platform development.
